If you’re looking for fun things to do in Las Vegas, you should definitely go check out the Mob Museum, Las Vegas.Â
True Crime fans, history buffs, and fans of old gangster movies will really enjoy it. I’m going to tell you a little about our experience going on Valentine’s Day, 2025.
This is going to be longer than most of the mob museum reviews because I'm based in Vegas and trying to develop us as a local brand in addition to national true crime website.
We’ll discuss the Mob Museum, whether it’s worth it, location, and answer some frequently asked questions about the Mob Museum.Â
FYI there is also a mob museum in Chicago and New York City.
What is the Mob Museum?
The Mob Museum is a 4-story former courthouse that houses a museum that displays the history of Las Vegas and organized crime. Its official name is the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement.Â
Their goal is to advance the public understanding of organized crime's role on American society. Visitors will find it eye opening.
I had some knowledge of the history of the mob just from living in Vegas for the better part of 25 years and there were still things that shocked me. For instance, after watching the movie about the Kefauver hearings I question whether organized crime and it's influence on politicians just changed their name to corporation and "campaign contributions".
The museum uses artifacts, movies, and placards to tell stories about the origination of Las Vegas, the rise of the mob in the U.S, the mob’s history in Las Vegas, the role Howard Hughes played in the town, and The Valentine’s Day Massacre.

Is the Mob Museum worth it?
Absolutely. The Mob Museum Las Vegas is worth it. You can park in the Mob Museum parking lot for $8 for four hours, which should be plenty of time. You'll walk into the museum on the first floor from Stewart Avenue and get your admission ticket. Then you'll want to take the elevator to the third floor.
This floor starts with a room where you can get your mug shot taken with your family and friends. Then you can enter a room about the American history of organized crime and has lists on the wall. These lists provide a background about everything the mob had their hands in (Basically everything, which might explain why corporate America seems like a bunch of psychopaths to the general public).

The third floor also offers real stories about prohibition era history, how Las Vegas formed, exhibits about Eliot Ness and the G Men, and an authentic view or the Valentine's Day Massacre Wall with damage from the bullet holes.
You can buy the Mob Museum photos when you go to the second floor of the museum. We didn't budget properly to buy them, but the digital photos are currently $35, or there are options for physical copies.
Then there's a small cafe before you enter the historic courtroom where the Kefauver hearings were held when the building was a federal courthouse. There's a short movie about the hearings that was fun to watch. The second floor also has the Howard Hughes display and a replica electric chair that was fun to play with.

The first floor explained the ways that people get out of organized crime, then there's an area where people who were associated with the notorious gangsters can present. We walked in during the middle of a presentation so we just walked through real quick.
They also have exhibits from some famous entertainment like Pulp Fiction and Breaking Bad, and a gift shop.
